I boarded a plane in Dubai for my return trip to Birmingham. As I sat on the plane, it made me think that on such trips that we all take on a plane, we have no control over who the pilot is. We do not even check if the pilot is well qualified, is he or she in the right state of mind to fly the plane safely. We have no control over which aircraft we get allocated. We merely accept the pilot allocated to our plane, and the plane we have been asked to board and undertake our journey.
